Here is the next Twitter App Blog!!!  This is a very fun process.  I am trying so many apps now that I am having a hard time remembering all the different names and deciphering my notes!!!  The fun part is that there are new apps everday, so there is always something new to try.  Have fun with these, I sure did!!!

10.  My-First-Follow

This app just shows you the first person that followed you on twitter.  This might be fun for someone who just stumbled upon twitter all by themselves and didn't have someone they knew follow them right away!!!  This is just something different.

9.  Monitter

I am adding this one because it is very popular recently, although I am having a hard time telling the difference between this and Tweetgrid - other than the look of it.  Monitter lets you monitor twitter for 3 or more keywords and watch the tweets as they come through.

Here are the next 10 Twitter Apps that are worth trying and a description to go along with each one.  Thank you for all the hits on the last list and because it was so popular, of course I will keep writing them and taking your recommendations along the way.  They will be given 10 at a time still, but this time numbered from 10 to 1, just like a top ten.  The order will of course mean that number 1 is better in some way.  For the purposes of this blog it means that I personally enjoyed the application for my uses, but it doesn't mean that it would necessarily be a better app for you.

Have fun with the apps and let them help you with your twitter addiction as they have for me!!!

I am declaring that I officially love twitter.  Because of my newly developed passion for this social networking site, I have been playing around with different twitter apps.  I am playing with so many lately, that I have to put my notes somewhere just to remember them.  There are so many that I am going to take them 10 at a time and separate my blogs that way.  They are just going to be in order of how I notated them, not in order of how I like them or how they come up in searches.

I may write some blogs for newcomers to twitter in the future, so do not take this list as a good reference if you are just getting started on twitter.  Instead, get your twitter account going and once you are familiar, come back here and try new things.  Everyone is different, so one thing may work for someone really well, while another app may just be a waist of time.  Play around like I have and enjoy!!!

1.  The first app to try with twitter is, TweetDeck.

Social Media and Group Psychology

How can you get the most from a group experience when using social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Youtube, etc.?  The norms of social networking sites are somewhat different from the norms of different social situations.

1.  Become an active group member.  In order to fully appreciate any social networking site, you have to join.  You can't contribute anything without first joining and you wont be able to learn about what each site has to offer without trying it for yourself.  Your experience with one group (or site) will help you when trying out another one.  In these groups, your willingness to seek input from others and to give feedback to others can start a pattern that will allow you to give quality and value to the groups that you are in.  If you start this process with reluctance, then the connections that you make may sense your insecurity and  have trouble connecting to you.

Why do you have a website?

Posted by Mike Elliott in website designinternet marketing

Mike Elliott

This is a question I think we fail to ask ourselves often enough.  With all the hard work we put into designing, maintaining, and marketing our online presence it's one we should be asking ourselves every day.  This list is by no means comprehensive and one that will be different for everybody but here are some suggestions to get started.

Why does your business/company have a website?

  • To communicate with existing customers/clients/investors.
  • As an online brochure to explain what you do.
  • To sell products and services.
  • To get more clients/customers/investors.
  • To keep your existing clients/customers/investors.
  • To build trust and credibility with existing clients, customers and investors.
  • To build trust and credibility with potential clients, customers and investors.
  • To build brand awareness.
  • The more somebody knows about your company and the people running it the more they trust your company.
  • The more they trust your company the more likely they are to do business/invest with you.
