This was a really fun project. When I got 1,000 followers on www.twitter.com - I told them that I would put Santa Hats on their profile pics if they wanted!!! Here are a few of the funny Santa Hat pics!!!

Ok, so those were some of the different pics that I messed around with and emailed back to the owner. Here are a couple that were requested and some not requested, but thought they would either be appreciated or maybe funny!!! lol

This was just a fun experiment!! I thought I would share it with someone, since I spent a lot of time on the pics!!! I hope you enjoy. I am trying to think of a way to make the Santa Hat kind of like a mark of our tribe. The problem is, that in a few weeks they will no longer be necessary. So, I have to think of some other way to mark our Tribe's pics on our profiles. Let me know if you have any ideas, you can just leave a comment here on this blog!!! Last, here is the pic that started all of this and really is the least creative and I spent the least amount of time on it, because it was for me. I feel more creative when doing things for others.

So, comment here and try to leave a pic or link to your Santa Hat Pic and be part of our Tribe!!!
P.S. I am a new blogger, so I am sure this is a very strange format. Suggestions are really really welcome. And, I don't know if you can leave a pic in a comment, but I am checking on that cause one commenter had a pic already?

It seems like there are a lot of profiles with the hats now, it is really catching on!!! You should show your holiday spirit too and be part of our Tribe.

... Have you seen Seth Godin\'s presentation on his new book \"Tribes\". You can take a look on slideshare here: http://www.slideshare.net/share/671087. It contains some great illustrations about this concept. What I love about social networks is their ability to reward behavior that provides benefits to a community. It\'s amazing how hard this concept is to get across to business leaders. We\'ve met with the CEO of a mid sized investor relations/public relations firm twice in the last week and had some trouble enrolling him on the proper approach to using new media for PR. Worse yet, After our preliminary research we discovered the client had hired a group previous to our meeting who\'s idea of social media marketing was to go out and set up 5 anonymous twitter accounts and use twitterfeed to produce a ton of rss fed news content without any interactions whatsoever. Getting clients to understand the concept of \"conversational marketing\" as a participatory process where being inauthentic is quickly revealed is one of our biggest challenges. By the way after reading your comment I decided it was time to don the Santa\'s hat. |

NIce... T.S. Elliot, not only do you have an awesome name, you had an awesome idea with the Santa Hats. The psychology behind the tool is simply phenomenal - you get more attention for your Twitter-Stream and Blog, followers of the "hat picture users" will ask them about the new pic (generating more traffic for THEM) and a lot of the ensuing conversations will revolve around your agency again. I won't even start on the "tribal setting", taking advantage of mechanisms form herd and evolutionary psychology and creating in- and out-groups in a friendly, culturally loaded setting. Brilliant plan with benefits for everyone involved. I'll don my hat tonight and keep it on for the rest of the year! Best ones, - Markus P.S.: I'm noting with glee that you guys are also members of Steve Job's tribe |
